NORWICH TERRIER CLUB OF
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Welcome to the website for the Norwich Terrier Club of Northern California.  Our Club was established January 1, 2009.

Originally from England, the Norwich Terrier was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1936 as one breed with two distinct ear types, the prick ear and the drop ear.  A National Club was established in 1938 to further promote and celebrate the breed.

In 1979, one breed became two – the Norwich Terrier (prick ear) and the Norfolk Terrier (drop ear). In 2007 when the National Club voted to separate and create one club for each breed, our Northern California Club did the same.

Our dedication to the Norwich Terrier and our commitment to the health and welfare of our breed is what brings us together in this Club.  But it is the love for our dogs and the enjoyment we derive from sharing our lives with them that keeps us together.
