We moved recently from our home of the past twenty years, I relocated my studio to a rental space in Nob Hill, San Francisco. Sterling made the move with me. As you can see from the photo, the one where he is gazing up at the artwork, he is quite a connoisseur. He gives the “woof” of approval to something he particularly likes. Sterling is eight years old and has lived with art all his life. He would, however, like it go on record that he still prefers good home-cooking or a walk on the beach to art, anytime.
In the ten years I’ve been painting – mostly in oil but also in pastel and acrylic – I’ve had a ball. I love painting people and animals (if you go to my website: http://www.mtwfineart.com, you’ll see that the majority of my work is figurative, and Sterling has appeared in several paintings), but landscapes and still lifes are also great fun. There’s no end to what will inspire me; I love it when people respond by loving what I’ve captured for them to enjoy or relate to.
Sterling lives with Margaret, her husband John and their daughter Jenny; she credits her husband John for the great photos provided on this page.
Thanks to the consistent advocacy of Margaret's older daughter Maia Broussard, who is a practicing vet in North Carolina, Sterling remains svelte at eight years of age in spite of a clear and unavoidable addiction to food.
